US custodian bank Northern Trust has expanded its environmental, social and governance (ESG) services with the launch of a new climate risk reporting tool for global institutional investors. The climate focused report combines information on global assets under custody with data provided through a partnership with ISS ESG to provide clients with portfolio-level information on carbon metrics, physical risks and transition risks. The tool also provides information on emissions, carbon intensity measures and forward-looking scenario ysis. This information helps institutional investors assess climate change risk factors against the investments in their portfolios and compare them to benchmarks.The service also supports disclosure obligations by aligning with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
